Rhys Ryan is an emerging dance artist from Naarm/Melbourne working across performance, choreography and critical writing.
He trained at the Victorian College of the Arts and has worked as a dancer with leading Australian and international choreographers.
Best described as experimental dance theatre, his artistic practice uses the body as a tool to probe, disrupt, subvert and satirise the systems and spaces we occupy.
Rhys’ process often engages academic theory (he is formally trained in dance, law and politics) and pursues rigorous interrogations of physicality.
